Let's take a look at the products used to transform these ornaments.
Shatterproof plain ornaments
Baby wipes or damp rag to wipe away excess paint
Silicone Molds
Air Dry Clay
Adhesive
Directions:
First, prepare the surfaces of the ornaments by applying gesso. Let this dry completely.
Next, use an air dry clay to create ornamental pieces with silicone molds. Another option is to use items in your stash or florals.
You can paint these any way you like in any color. For my post I will focus on the vintage ornament. This required me to mix paint to get the shade of brown. I used Frosted Pine Polishing Plaster, Northern Lights and Red Wagon Shimmering matte Acrylic Paints. I added a dab of black matte acrylic paint and a few drops of water and mixed.
Next, I watered down the brown mix and applied as shown in the photo. Use a damp baby wipe or cloth to wipe away some of the paint.
Next, Paint the bottom portion of the ornament using a thinned out bit of Forest Pine Polishing Plaster. Once Dry, Add a coat of Northern Lights Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint.
Next, add the crackle medium to the top and allow it to crack. Once the cracking is dry and complete, water down the brown mix and brush it on to create the antiqued look.
Dry brush on the Bright Gold Shimmering Matte Acrylics to the raised brown clay center - this will add some additional dimension to your ornament.
For the remaining two ornaments shown, I used the Washed Teal Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint. It was dry brushed with white gesso to finish.
The third was painted with Northern Lights Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint.
Thanks so much for visiting and viewing my project using Perfect Paints! I hope I have inspired you to grab some of these amazing products and create something beautiful! I will be creating more to share with you soon!
