Botanical Dreams Panel With Perfect Paints

Hello there! Jenn DuBell here, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my very first project as a member of the Perfect Paints Design Team For my inaugural project, I've chosen to embrace the soothing beauty of nature with a botanical-themed 5X7 decorative panel. Using the versatile Polishing Plaster for stenciling is an absolute delight—its quick drying time means I can dive straight into creativity without the wait. To bring this dreamy piece to life, I've combined an array of ephemera, beads, florals, and a vintage photo from my collection, resulting in a harmonious blend of textures and colors.

Join me as I take you through the process of creating this Botanical panel that perfectly captures the essence of a serene garden!

Directions:

To begin, I added decorative paper to a 5X7 chipboard panel and coated it in clear gesso to prep it for mediums and paint.

Next, I used a stencil and Dove's Wing Polishing Plaster to create some interest and dimension to my background.

Just look at that gorgeous texture with the polishing plaster!

Next, I added some splatters of the Shimmering Matte Acrylics and once dry I used the Spring Green mixed with water to add color to some of my stenciling. I added flicks of Red Wagon and Honey Gold to the background as well

Dried with a heat tool. The Spring Green has a beautiful gold shimmer to it that was perfect for this project!

After my assembly was complete and adhered to the panel, I added brushes of the Dove's Wing Polishing Plaster as a final touch. Distress Inks in Black Soot and Ground Espresso were brushed around the outer edge of the panel as well.

Here is a close up showing the texture, dimension and beauty of the paints used.
