Changing the ordinary into extraordinary with Perfect Paints!

On a serious note...there is nothing that is safe in my house from paint! There is no surface in which I cant slather the liquid yumminess! For this post, I challenged myself by walking around the house to find an object to transform that most would not think of. It finally came down to two objects, a small journal or covering an old piece of paper that had a weird pattern on it and make it new. The journal that I wrote in back in 2015 during some travels...won!

I chose the new Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint in Northern Lights, mixed it with a bit of water. The Shimmering Acrylics are perfect to cover the canvas cover on the journal.

Using the Hand Punch Hole 6" x 6" , add some texture using a palette knife and white gesso. When it was completely dry, I painted it lightly with Northern Lights Shimmering Matte Acrylics. I added Polishing Plaster Frosted Pine to accent the edges of the book and along the top of the white gesso. When dry I added Shimmering Acrylic paint, "Shadow" and "Bright Gold" to accent the peaks of the stenciled areas.

Using a mold and some molding clay create a lock hatch and key. Once completely dry, I painted it with Shimmering Matte Acrylics, Shadow and Bright Gold.

Now its time to add some more industrial components. Cut a chipboard gear in half to make a larger plate effect behind the keyhole. Paint with Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint in Shadow.
