Day 11 of our 12 days of Christmas: Creating Multi-colored Confetti with Perfect Paints

Happy holidays, friends. Tis' the season! All of these beautiful holiday projects are getting me in the mood for the holidays. What about you? Today, I'm sharing a insert page I created for my holiday SNAP album. I love altering chipboard with Polishing Plaster. It's super simple and fun.

To begin, I taped the stencil over the chipboard to hold everything in place and then I grabbed a palette knife and pulled the different Perfect Paints Polishing Plaster in the colors of Cayenne, Frosted Pine, and Jack Frost through the stencil, adding the colors sparingly. My goal was to create multi-color confetti in the background!

Lets begin by taping down our stencil and using 3 colors of Polishing Plaster to create our background

As you can see, it doesn't look very pretty at first...but once the stencil is peeled from the chipboard, magic happens!

Make sure you are really pressing down the palette knife and pulling the Polishing Plaster through the stencil, otherwise, when you peel the stencil, you may lift some of the polishing plaster off the chipboard. This happened to me and I was able to cover up the boo-boos using foam stickers!

Do you see what I mean... you can see where the polishing plaster is missing...but I'm not too worried about it because the Stickers will help distract the imperfections.

Honestly, I don't worry much about imperfect mixed media projects because the reason why I play with them in the first place is to just have fun, and enjoy the process! It's soothing to me. I hope you found this project inspiring. Have you thought about creating a holiday SNAP album? They are super fun and oh, so festive! Thank you so much for visiting today.

Happy Holiday,

Nic
