Decorate your backgrounds with Perfect Paints Polishing Plasters!!
Hello everyone! Myry here again and today I'm going to make backgrounds with Polishing Plasters!
Hi crafting friends, it's Myry! Today, I'm experimenting with something a little different and I'm excited to share it with you. I'll be using Polishing Plasters to create unique backgrounds for a mini album I'm working on, featuring a palette of warm and inviting shades. I've chosen "Dove's Wing" Polishing Plaster for its beautiful sheen, even though it's not quite a perfect color match. You might want to explore other options like Perfect Paints' "Whipped Caramel" or "Organic Sugar" if you're looking for a shade that fits more directly with this type of color story. But trust me, the shine on this "Dove's Wing" is worth it! Let's see what we can create.
I'm going to show you how I embellish my backgrounds in two different ways.
1) With a stencil, in this case, with circles/bubbles... very nice for a child's project.
First of all I'm going to glue or sew whatever I want onto my base paper. I don't want to put the plaster on a surface that will then be covered by another layer of paper.
Once I have the most superficial elements in place (the frame and the seam at the edge) I apply the Polishing Plaster. Keep in mind that I have already thought about where the rest of the elements will go, so I'm applying the plaster in very specific places.
And now, the rest of the elements.
Layers and layers... "the lady of the layers" is my name!
2) With the spatula. And it's super simple: take a little bit of product, place it on the surface and make a dragging movement with the spatula.
And I do this at the end, when I have all the elements in place.
And I'm going to do this on the edges above all, or in very specific places. It should be just one more element in harmony with the rest of the composition, without exaggerating or drawing attention.
I think these plasters are a great option if you don't have any kind of gesso or medium or pigments. They have a very similar finish and, as you can see, there is a variety of very interesting colors. I highly recommend them if you want to do the same as me with the bases of your works. They are so easy to work with and you save on pigments.
So I thought it would take me less time to do all the pages but here we are unfinished!
Well, well, well. What a way to start this month!
Have a good week!
Myry
