Gears & Sunshine Card with Perfect Paints

Hello everyone !
Ever had one of those moments when you’re just feeling a little grungy but also need a dash of sunshine in your life? Well, that’s the vibe I was going for with this card. It’s a perfect blend of industrial gears and blooming sunflowers, with a little shimmer to keep it feeling alive! Let me take you through my process, step by step. But first, let’s talk about the must-have products that made this magic happen.
Products Used:
Alright, now let’s talk about the theme. So, I started with a plain old kraft sheet. I know, it sounds simple, but trust me, this little piece of paper really pulled its weight! I folded it in half to create a basic card and then went all out with some fun and bold papers.

The color scheme? Mild yellow and blue – like a mellow sunrise on a lazy day. Think sunshine meets calm, with a hint of grunge. Just the right amount of "I woke up like this" energy.

But I couldn’t leave it that plain! So, I grabbed my Perfect Paints (because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a little magic in a bottle?) and started layering up. The Radiant Sun Polishing Plaster went down first for some background texture.

Then, I used a stencil with checker boxes and added some Blue Moon Polishing Plaster to make it pop!

Now, we all know how a stencil can add those extra details, so I pulled out my Tim Holtz Alphabet Stencil for the tiniest, most delightful touches mixing the Perfect Glaze Texture Medium with Bell Bottom Blues SMA. It’s got the best of both worlds—glaze and shimmer—so it shines through even when the light’s not on it.
Next, I needed dimension, so I added gear chipboards. Before sticking them down, I gave them a makeover with Honey Gold, Bright Gold, and Aged Copper acrylic paints.

Now, to top it all off, I added some cheerful sunflowers and fabric flowers to give it life. You know, because a little sunshine never hurt anyone! 🌻 These sunflowers are like my soul. Grungy, but with a hint of brightness that makes everything better.

And finally, what’s a card without a little love note? I stamped the sentiment, “It’s always been you.” It’s simple, yet sweet, just like the whole vibe of the card: a perfect mix of grunge, sunshine, and a little sentimental charm.

So there you have it. Hope this brought a bit of sunshine into your life. Until next time, keep crafting, keep shining, and maybe throw in a few gears here and there for good measure! ✨

Lots of Love,
Eva
