Homemade cards using Perfect Paints

Hello, fellow crafters! It’s Becky here, and I’m thrilled to dive into the festive spirit with you by showcasing my latest holiday card creation. There’s something truly special about making homemade cards, especially during the holiday season when a personal touch can mean so much. Today, I’m excited to share how I elevated my card-making game by incorporating Perfect Paints into my design.

Using Polishing Plaster and Shimmering Acrylics, I transformed simple materials into a work of art that embodies the cheer of the season. If you’re anything like me, your crafting space might be overflowing with scrapbook leftovers just waiting to be transformed. So, why not repurpose those materials to create beautiful tags and cards? I started off with some classic cream and red scrapbook paper to set the tone for my holiday greeting. Let’s dive into the process and get inspired!

Start with some cream and red scrapbook paper. Trim to the desired size grabbed some cream and red scrapbook paper to make my card. Trim to the desired size.

Tape down you stencil using painters tape. Using a palette, add plaster through the stencil.

I let this dry for just a little bit and then removed the stencil. I love the texture the plaster gives on your projects.

As you can see I made a small booboo (we are all human right) and pulled off some of my paper with the painter's tape. But that is okay...we will hide that with the embellishments. I have some ribbon, journaling block and a patterned shape that I found in my scrap pile.

Once I have them laid out the way I want it to look we will add some adhesive. But first I want to add some Shimmering Acrylic to my paper flowers. Lightly brush on the acrylic to each petal. Once dry you can then layer the petals and finish off with a brad.

Now to adhere everything down where I want them to be.

For a last minute touch, I took a thin paint brush and added some Halo on top of the Polishing Plaster. And with that I am done with this cute and simple card made from scraps.
