"In the Garden" Journal Page with Perfect Paints!
Hey yall! Michelle here and I'm a newbie here on the Perfect Paints Design Team but I'm super excited to share some fun inspiration with you!
Today I'm working in my handmade plaster art journal and I just love how the texture and colors of the Perfect Paints work with it!
I started out with the Botanical Garden Clippings patterned paper by 49 and Market and did some fussy cutting to give me a nice large graphic piece that served as the color palate and inspiration piece of the page. I cut the flower stems first, followed by the side bar of text. I tore the edge to add some interest and then made sure to cut the label area out to form an area for the title.
Supplies used:
Shimmering Acrylics
Perfect Paints Texture mediums
Once I had a direction of what the page was going to look like I looked through my paints and reached for the "Northern Lights" Shimmering Matte Acrylic paint and decided to apply it roughtly with a pallete knife.
I tack glued the cut papers to the journal page and then moved on to how I would embelish the page.
I used the Clear X-Small Glass Bead Gel to highlight the berries on the pattern paper cut outs and then added a few bits of gold leaf into the wet gel.
Next I added the finishing touches using diecuts from 49 and Market & Tim Holtz. I also added the Clear X-Small Glass Bead Gel on the butterfly dicuts and added a bit of fine gold glitter for added sparkle.
I also tucked a tabbed journaling card diecut from 49 and Market under the flower cut outs for some hidden journaling.
My last finishing touch was to rub a bit of "Aged Copper" Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint along the edges of the page.
This page makes the perfect addition to my art journal and I can't wait to make more to share with y'all
Thank you for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to make something beautiful!
