Love in Layers Card: A Crafty Comeback!
Hey, crafty friends! I’m back in the game after a long break, and I couldn’t be more excited! With my wedding anniversary right around the corner, I thought, what better way to celebrate than with a handmade card? So, let’s jump in and have some fun with this project using those fabulous shimmering acrylic paints from Perfect Paints!
First things first, I grabbed a 5.75x5.75” piece of white cardstock and set the stage for some lacy goodness. Using a stencil and dove’s wing polishing plaster, I created a delicate background. I let that dry.
Next, I rounded up some gorgeous ephemera from the Rouge collection by 49&Market, along with a bouquet of floral elements. Since my design language is all about floral layering, I went for a fresh spring green palette.
I tried out a stippling technique with my stencil brush, adding hints of coral SMA to spring green SMA base creating a lovely lotus-in-a-pond vibe. Just a touch of coral SMA—because we want elegance, not a color explosion!
Then came the best part: adding the sweet sentiment “So in love with you” to celebrate our special day. I couldn’t resist throwing on some splatters with those vibrant acrylics—it’s like confetti for the card! To give it some sturdiness, I backed it all up with rustic cardstock.
And voilà! My “Love in Layers” card is ready to wow my husband. Crafting after a break can feel a little intimidating, but remember: the messier, the better! If you end up with some paint on your shirt, consider it a badge of honor! Happy crafting, everyone!
