Supplies
Perfect Paints White Stucco
Perfect Paints Shimmer Matte Acrylic in Espresso, Halo and Shadow
Pool noodles (I used three)
Sharp box cutter or knife
Hot Glue
Candles
Flowers
Rustoleum Black Spray Paint
To start off with I cut the pool noodles to the desired length. I wanted to make a pretty large centerpiece so I used 5 different lengths. Once you have those cut then you will need to cut out the hole just a little bit bigger on one end so that the candles will fit inside.
Once I have all these at the desired length I then hot glued them to a piece of cardboard.
The next step is to make the candle wax look. Using the hot glue gun I just went along the edge of the noodle and let it run. In some areas I added a lot so that it would have that lava effect of hardening as it was running down the edges.
Now....it's time to paint. I used Rustoleum Black Flat paint and gave everything a real good coat...including the cardboard. Make sure to get into the cracks of the glue.
Once that has dried I then used Shimmering Matte in Espresso and painted the candles randomly. Not all over but just in areas I would like a little shimmer. I made sure to not paint the "wax" since I wanted that to be one solid color.
Using the Stucco, and a pallet knife, I added texture along the base of the candles. Paying close attention to add more along the edges. Let this dry really well before going to the next step.
Once dry I used Shimmering Matte in Shadow to paint over the stucco. I wanted everything to keep that black tone but the acrylic will give it a nice shimmer. Then I did a few touch ups in Halo.
Hot glue some flowers and decorations to the sides and add your candles for a centerpiece everyone is sure to talk about!
I can't wait to see what you create!!
XOXO
