Springtime Cabinet Makeover with Perfect Paints!

Hello, my fellow DIY lovers!

Today, I finally decided to alter a mini cabinet that I’ve been hoarding for ages and what better way to refresh it than with some springtime magic? Let’s get into this fun transformation using fresh, Perfect Paints pastel colors and a bit of decoupage!

Small purple painted cabinet with four drawers textured using Polishing Plaster letters and pink/green accents. Surrounded by jars of crafting materials.

Supplies Used:

Mini Wooden Cabinet

Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paints in:

Decoupage Spring-Themed Sheet

Soft Brush Set

Decoupage Glue/Medium

Step-by-Step Process:

Step 1: Prepping the Cabinet

First things first, I gave my cabinet a little sanding to ensure a smooth surface. Then, I wiped it down because, let’s be honest, it had gathered some dust over time.

Step 2: Adding Texture with Polishing Plaster

I used shimmering sage polishing plaster on the drawer fronts to add some lovely raised details. This gave it a more artistic, dimensional look.

Step 3: Bringing in the Colors

Here comes the fun part! I started painting the drawer units with Peony Pink, Coral, and Spring Green shimmering matte acrylics. These colors blended beautifully, creating a fresh, vibrant spring vibe.

For the main cabinet structure, I mixed Peony Pink and Coral to create a soft but striking hue along the edges. It gave the cabinet a lovely contrast without being overpowering.

Step 4: Decoupage Magic

For the top surface, I carefully decoupaged a gorgeous spring-themed sheet. This added an elegant, floral touch, making it look like a mini masterpiece. (Pro tip: Always smooth out air bubbles before it dries!)

Step 5: Sealing and Final Touches

I let everything dry overnight because patience is key. The next day, I sealed the entire piece with a clear decoupage medium to protect the design and add durability.

Finally, I reattached the cute black knobs, and voilà! My spring-themed mini cabinet was ready to shine!

This transformation turned out way better than I expected! The mix of textures, colors, and floral patterns gave this once-forgotten cabinet a brand-new life. Now, it’s perfect for storing my little craft supplies.

If you’ve got an old piece of furniture lying around, why not give it a fun makeover? I’d love to hear how you plan to alter yours!

Happy crafting !

Lots of Love,

Eva
