Stacked Books and Perfect Paints
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope 2025 is off to a fantastic start for you. My crafting gears have been spinning non-stop, fueled by the endless quest for transformation. I'm always on the lookout for ordinary items that can be reborn into something unique and artistic. This time, my inspiration struck in the form of a few pre-loved books. Get ready to dive into my latest project: altered stacked books! Gather your supplies, because I'm excited to share this creative journey with you – let's craft along!
Supplies:
Misc Hardback books
White Craft Paint (I used chalk paint)
Wood trim
Thymeless Designs French Market Peonies Transfers
Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Beach Sand
Hemp String
Recollections Ink in Coffee
Misc Keys
To start off with I used the white chalk paint to paint all over the books. Every nook and cranny, even the pages. Set aside and let dry. Once they are ready, glue down the wood trim to one of the books.
Once this has dried then paint over the wood trim with the same paint. Using a paper towel I then dabbed it into my ink pad and started hitting the high areas of the book, adding a random aged look.
Any rub on will do but I really loved this vintage French Market set. I added the rub on to one side of the books.
Next, take a small paint brush and add some highlights with the Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Beach Sand.
Isn't it turning out so pretty!!!
Now for the finishing touches. Wrap the books in twine and add some embellishments such as random, old keys. Now you will have a very pretty stack of books to add to any decor!
