Step-by-Step Guide: How to Create a Stunning Snowy Winter Scene Wall Hanging Using Perfect Paints

Hello Everyone! Jenn DuBell here and today is Day Five of our 12 Days of Christmas! I’m excited to bring you another creative project that celebrates the Holiday Season! Christmas is always a favorite time of the year for creating home made gifts and Holiday decorations. The beautiful fresh white snow is one of my favorite parts of this time. Recreating the scenery using paper and products from Perfect Paints is a delightful way to celebrate.

Today, I’ll be sharing a tutorial of my Snowy Winter Scene wall hanging that I’ve created using the fantastic range of products from Perfect Paints.

Let's take a look at the products used to create this Beautiful Winter Scene!

Graphic 45 Let it Snow Papers and Ephemera

Graphic 45 Ribbon

Tim Holtz Distress Mica Flakes

Stencil

Hot Glue

Foam Adhesive Squares (used to create dimension among the pieces)

8" Wood Round with Jute String Hanger

8" Chipboard Round


Directions:

To begin prepare your chipboard round by adhering paper. Using one pattern on the top and another on the bottom will add depth and interest.

Next, use a distressing tool to gently rough up the edges all around the circle.

Use a decorative stencil and add Polishing Plaster to the surface. Dove's Wing was used on the top and Gilded Azure on the bottom.

Next, arrange your embellishments on your piece until you have the composition you want. Adhere the pieces using foam squares at different heights to create dimension.

Next, mix together Dove's Wing Polishing Plaster and Mica Flakes

Use a palette knife to add the snow texture mix to the top half first. Pat this with the back of the palette knife as you go to create the snow effect.

Add a layer of Dove's Wing Polishing Plaster to the bottom half alone then slowly add pats of the snow mixture. The bottom layer of snow texture will be heavier than the top.

Finally mix a small amount of water and Barely There Shimmering Matte Acrylic Paint. Use a Fan brush to gently flick splatters on the surface.
