Take picture frames to the next level with Perfect Paints

Hi! My name is Becky and I am super excited to share with you my love for Perfect Paints! I have been crafting since I was a child. From drawing, painting, scrapbooking and currently wood crafts.

Today I want to share with you how I love to take picture frames to the next level. I always love to add embellishments that either enhance the photo or make it more personal for the person I am gifting it to. Below are a list of the items that I used today for this project:

  • 49 & Market Serenity Ephemera Bits

  • 49 & Market Serenity Laser Cut Elements

  • 49 & Market Vintage Artistry Naturalist Bookplates

  • Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Beehive

  • Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Halo

  • Gluedots

  • Generic Photo Frame

  • Fine tipped paint brush

Step 1 -

I chose the largest bookplate trimmed in green and added the inner book page design so that it would appear that we have an open book. Once those were adhered together, I trimmed down my photo to 4x6, leaving a small white border, and then adhered to the book page at a slight angle using glue dots.

Step 2 -

White a fine tipped brush I then used a touch of the Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Halo and Beehive to add shading along the book page. Beehive was used for dark areas and Halo as highlights.

Step 3 -

Now the process begins on layering the embellishments. I started off first with the greenery vine found in the Serenity Laser Cut Elements package. Once that was adhered down with glue dots, I went back and added the flowers and butterfly.

Step 4 -

With your fine tip brush add more highlights with Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Halo to the flowers and butterfly. And add a few touches of Beehive to the greenery. Just enough to give it a shimmer of highlights when the lights hit the picture just right.

Step 5 -

Add a few journaling blocks from the Serenity Laser Cut Elements and the Ephemera Bits package.

Step 6 - Now you are ready to add the photo to the frame. Because I did not want to interfere with the size of my design, I used the matt from the frame as my layout base. Center and adhere to the matt. Then you are ready to add your design back into the frame.

Step 7 -

Add a leaf design and another butterfly from the Elements package directly to the front of the frame. I used glue dots to adhere these so that they can be easily removed if needed. Using the fine tip brush and Perfect Paints Shimmering Matte Beehive I painted inside the words of the "treasure" embellishment.

You are done! These make fantastic gifts for weddings, baby showers or anniversaries. It will be a one of a kind gift that will be treasured forever.
