Valentine Envelope Decor with Perfect Paints!
I've always been drawn to the precision and possibilities that laser cutouts offer. There's something so satisfying about assembling intricate pieces into a cohesive whole, and today's project was a perfect example of that. It was surprisingly easy to bring my vision to life, thanks in no small part to the fantastic products from Perfect Paints. Their range of vibrant colors and smooth application made the painting process an absolute breeze. But what truly elevated the finished piece was the addition of the White Crackle Texture medium. That little bit of extra tactile dimension made all the difference, transforming a simple laser cutout into a piece that really pops and grabs your attention. It's amazing how a few simple techniques can completely change the impact of a project!
Supplies needed:
Perfect Paints White Crackle Texture Medium
Perfect Paints Shimmering Acrylic in Red Wagon
Any laser cut wood shapes (I used a laser file that I had previously purchased)
Celebrate IT ribbon
Hemp string
Craft paint in black, red and white
Recollections Archival Pigment Ink Pad in Coffee
Step 1:
Cover the laser cut wood with the Perfect Paints White Crackle Texture Medium (I first using the Crackle Sizing then I layered the Crackle Paint on top).
Step 2:
Using the craft paint I then painted all the hearts. Mixing my own pinks and adding black/white for highlights.
Step 3:
Using Shimmering Acrylic will add some sparkle highlights. I used a touch of Red Wagon on the red hearts to give them the perfect shimmer!
Step 4:
Glue all the pieces together.
Look at that fabulous crackling.
Step 5:
Now that my crackle is dry I then took the Recollections ink pad and inked the edges and along some of the texture left behind by the paint. Add some ink to the hearts as well.
Step 6:
Tie the ribbon around the base. I added some hemp string as well for some added texture. But you could use multiple types of ribbon. Glue a wooden heart to the center of the ribbon and you have just made the cutest Valentine's shelf sitter.
Until next time! Happy Crafting!
XOXO
